The purpose of this web site is to honor and remember "Tun Tavern," the birthplace of the U.S. Marine Corps located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The birth date of the United States Marine Corps is November 10th, 1775.
Tun Tavern is no longer standing, its original location is now under a local freeway near the Delaware river, very close to the proposed site of this Memorial.
